Abstract

Endocrine active testicular tumors pose interesting management problems in children. The distinction between an isolated Leydig cell tumor of the testis and endocrine active testicular tumors associated with congenital adrenal hyperplasia may sometimes be difficult. In addition, the cellular origin of both of these clinical entities has been debated. In order for clinicians to accurately treat both of these disorders, a clear understanding of the distinguishing features is necessary. This chapter will review these points as well as provide speculation as to the origin of bilateral testicular tumors associated with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
