Abstract

The disturbances caused by the Ghuzz tribesmen and the constant wars and conflicts in which Iran was engaged in the 6th/12th Century, the terrible Mongol invasion, all the concomitant distress and despair - this was ideal soil for the nourishment of the most glorious products of Persian mysticism.
