Abstract
A sun-dial has a style or gnomon, which in general is parallel to the earth’s axis; its shadow falls on a plane between hour lines. The simplest cases are:
-
the horizontal sun-dial, designed on a horizontal table;
-
the vertical sun-dial, designed on a vertical wall, facing South.
