Abstract

We have continued a program of measuring the fluxes and energy spectra of trapped α-particles because such measurements should give valuable clues as to the source and loss mechanisms of the much more abundant protons. A four element counter telescope was flown aboard satellite 1968–26B. This instrument was sensitive to both protons and α-particles with energies from 0.5 to 15 MeV/nucleon and resolved the spectrum into seven channels per particle species. The data presented here were taken from April 4 to 7, 1968.
