Recent Measurements of Inner Belt Protons

Two separate but related topics will be discussed in this contribution. They are:
  1. (a)

    Variations in the intensity of inner belt protons with E≽30 MeV over the solar cycle (Bewick et al., 1970).

  2. (b)

    A magnetic storm event on October 31, 1968, in which high energy proton precipitation appears to have been observed at the equator at balloon altitudes (Sood et al., 1970).
