Abstract
In previous chapters consideration was given to the operations necessary for the unlocking of the constituent minerals in ore as mined. Comminution was studied:

(a)
as a liberating treatment preliminary to separation into concentrate and tailings;

(b)
as an economic operation;

(c)
as a stage in developing individual qualities needed in further treatment.
