Abstract
The photosynthetic production rate depends besides other parameters on the quantity and quality of the absorbed light. If therefore in photosynthetic research use is made of photosynthetic reactors with light sources, the spectral distribution of light and of absorption has to be known for a quantitative analysis. Particularly for a rational design of such a reactor, the knowledge of the exact absorption distribution in the reactor is a necessary tool for both the biologist and the engineer.
