Abstract
The ticks used for investigation were collected in Czechoslovakia and Austria. The Ornithodoros papillipes and Rhipicepbalus sanguineus originated from laboratory cultures. My thanks are due to Dr Čemý, Institute of Parasitology of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Prague and Dr Nosek, Institute of Virology,Slovak Academy of Sciences,Bratislava, for some tick specimens.
