Abstract
Stéphan’s quintet is a compact group of five galaxies which have widely different redshifts (see Figure 2 in Arp’s Invited Paper): the galaxy on the South-East, NGC 7320, has a redshift cz∼800 km s− 1, while the four other galaxies have redshifts cz∼6000 km s−1.
