Molecular Interactions in Ground and Excited States

  • Conference paper

Abstract

The interaction between molecules is the central issue of chemistry. Molecules interact to break old chemical bonds and to form new bonds in chemical reactions. In weaker interactions molecules associate themselves to form molecular complexes or aggregates. In solutions interactions between solute and solvent molecules play the essential role. Much experimental evidence, both chemical and spectroscopic, demonstrates the existence and the nature of such molecular interactions.
