Abstract

The enterprise undertaken in this paper is a brief exploration of the epistemological status of the various kinds of sentences which typically appear in the body of anthropological studies. Since this analysis presupposes a view of what science is, a few remarks should be made by way of preface in order to make this view explicit. No attempt will be made, however, to defend it.1
