Abstract
On leaving Lake Victoria the White Nile flows for 70 km through an incised valley with rapids before it enters Lake Kioga. The history of this river stretch has been interpreted as an ‘overflow’ from Lake Victoria; it is discussed in ch. 2 and 3. Biologically little is known here.
