Abstract
The capability of spacelab to carry payloads of weight and size an order of magnitude larger than was possible with other vehicles will give a new dimension to investigations of the earth homosphere from space. The use of more sophisticated instruments will be possible as well as their association allowing comparison between various types of measurements that will lead to a better accuracy of the data gathered on a global basis.
