Abstract
A brief review was given of the conceptual development of atmospheric science experiments, covering the various studies carried out during this decade (e.g. NASA-JSC/Martin Marietta, 1972; NAS-SSB, 1973; Martin Marietta, 1973; AMPS Science Definition Working Group, 1975). The presentation was concluded with a summary of the present science objectives and instrument concepts for the early AMPS flights.
