Abstract

Chapters 3, 4, and 5 are concerned with the conditions for the reduction of one theory to another. In particular, I will focus attention on the detailed conditions for microreductions. In order to do this, Chapter 3 will first contain an examination of the logical and semantical structure of theories with structured wholes. Such theories have in their domains some elements which are considered simple and indecomposable, and other elements which are structured wholes whose parts are various kinds of the indecomposable elements.
