Report on a preparation of pectin: Sangostop®

Abstract

Sangostop® was introduced as a haemostatic agent in 1935 by Brahn et al. (1935) and by Reisser and Nagel (1935). It was stated that it could reduce all kinds of bleeding and could be administered locally, by mouth, intramuscularly, subcutaneously or per rectum.

Other similar preparations: Strypturon®, Arhémapectine®.
