Abstract

A lattice generalization of the (b 1u b 2g )⊗b 3u pseudo-Jahn-Teller model is analyzed within mean-field theory. Ferroelectric or antiferroelectric ground states are found for sufficiently large pseudo-Jahn-Teller coupling.
