Abstract
Within the framework of the pair-potential approximation and the shell model including the Jahn-Teller contribution to the crystal energy and dynamic matrix we have studied the phonon frequency dependence on the value of JT constants for the LaMnO 3 and Nd 2 CuO 4 crystals. In addition, a symmetry analysis of the CuO structure is performed.
