Abstract
Ukraine-Canada technical co-operation on Chornobyl-related GIS projects dates back to 1993. A Chornobyl GIS Pilot Project resulted from initial discussions with representatives from several Ukrainian government agencies and the private sector. The main objectives of the Pilot Project were to explore the potential of GIS technologies in management of the ecological effects of the Chornobyl accident, and to develop suitable applications. The Pilot Project was completed in December 1994.
