Abstract
Most of the previous work to develop decontaminating agents for Chemical Warfare (CW) agents has focused militarily important scenarios and on hydrolysis as the principal reaction. This work explores other mechanisms and focuses on the decontamination of civilian facilities that have been subjected to a terrorist incident involving either chemical or biological agents and which will, of necessity, be reoccupied forlongperiods of time without protective equipment.
