Interactive River-Aquifer Simulation and Stochastic Analyses for Predicting and Evaluating the Ecologic Impacts of Alternative Land and Water Management Policies

  • Chapter
Hydrological Models for Environmental Management

Part of the book series: NATO Science Series ((ASEN2,volume 79))

Overview

This paper describes an Interactive River-Aquifer Simulation program for estimating time series of flows. storage volumes, water qualities and hydroelectric power and energy produced and consumed from pumping throughout a surface water, or an interdependent surface and groundwater, system. Alternative land and water management policies and practices can be simulated and evaluated. A stochastic analysis component of this program permits the prediction of the ecological impacts of each management policy.
