Structural changes of an austenitic stainless steel induced by rf plasma nitriding

  • Conference paper
Hyperfine Interactions (C)

Abstract

RF plasma nitriding at 400 °C for 24 h was used to modify structural properties of the X5CrNi189 austenitic stainless steel. The results of the surface and bulk phase composition studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy are correlated with the results of cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy.
