Abstract

In these lectures we first review an experimental evidence in favour of small-distance quark-gluon dynamics as the basis for multiple hadron production in hard interactions. Then, we discuss the basics of QCD parton picture. The emphasis is given to the rôle of gluon coherence effects both in space- and time-like evolution.
