Abstract

With the wide availability of CCD imaging cameras in the amateur community has come the ability to do meaningful spectroscopic measurement projects. Amateurs can now perform high-resolution stellar spectroscopy with 2-Å or better resolution on stars down to 12th magnitude, and spectroscopy on diffuse objects down to 19th magnitude arcse-2 with five-minute exposures and commercially available mass-market telescopes.
