Pacemaker and Their Function
In unipolar stimulation one cardiac electrode is used, the other being either the metal casing or one of the sides of the pacemaker. The cardiac electrode is always negative as it gives the lowest threshold, that is to say the weakest stimulus to start ventricular depolarisation.
