Abstract
In 1967 Catalyst Research Corporation (CRC) became involved in the invention and development of a new electrochemical system, the lithium-iodine cell. Since that time, over 100,000 cells have been produced by both lithium-iodine cell manufacturers, and to this time there has not been a single premature failure documented for any clinical cell.
