Abstract

Considering that simple glaucoma may be a disease of a generalized metabolic disorder because of its genetic, geriatric and progressive nature, the present author has prescribed anthranilic acids and vitamin B12, when necessary also with other anti-glaucomatous treatments, in 15 simple glaucoma patients for over 10 years and gets a good result in about half of the patients without apparent progress especially in visual fields. The discontinuance of these medications contributed to the progression of visual field defects while re-establishment of their use reversed the process.
