Abstract

While referring to the rich program of the Conference of Arezzo-Siena*, devoted to the question of teleology in its multiple aspects and meanings, I wish to present the problem of man’s self-teleology. In bringing up this problem, I refer to a few of my previous papers,1 and above all I undertake one more attempt to develop conceptions contained in my study entitled The Acting Person.2 That is why I have given this paper the title ‘The Transcendence of the Person in Action and Man’s Self-Teleology.’ In the framework of the question thus presented I see the possibility of a new interpretation of a theme, traditional in philosophy, of man and of morality.
