Abstract
The use of subxiphoid (SUBX) M-mode echocardiography has been rather limited, as can be seen from the few studies published; these concern more bronchopneumopathics than cardiopathics (1, 3, 4, 5). Probably this limited use can be attributed to the presumed unreliability of the spatial parameters and to the subxiphoid echocardiographic anatomy not being well established.
