Abstract
In the previous chapter we introduced without definition the theoretical model and much of the terminology used in our analysis. Many of the terms we used, e.g. commodity, activity, node, etc., are clear at an intuitive level, but we now give a rigorous interpretation of the way in which we use them. The first part of this chapter is devoted to these definitions.
