Abstract
In Chapter 5, a number of drilling techniques suitable for sampling unconsolidated overburden were described. Although it is not possible to categorize drilling methods into those suitable for rock and those suitable for unconsolidated material, since some drilling methods can be used in both environments, only those drilling techniques capable of penetrating solid rock will be described in this chapter.
