Abstract

Pharmacoradiology is now widely accepted. There was, quite rightly, an initial resistance due to unpredictable results and the unacceptable incidence of side effects. Morphine, insulin and prostigmine were rapidly discarded and replaced by metoclopramide, propantheline and hyoscine butyl bromide. These substances are highly effective and, while the side effects are predictable and acceptable, the incidence of side effects of propantheline is nevertheless quite high.
