Abstract

Before entering upon some practical subjects concerning this meeting I first want to thank Prof. Jan Francken for his clear and careful survey of the field of solar heat storage at low temperatures. Even this restricted field appears to encompass so many questions and problems that it is real achievement to indicate in such a lucid way the main features of each of the four directions of research that can be distinguished in this field.
