Abstract
In our experience, traditional M-mode echocardiography has proven of limited usefulness in the diagnosis of atrioventricular canal (AVC) malformations, as it cannot provide specific information about the anatomical details typical of these disorders. Differential diagnosis between partial and complete forms, or the definition of the anatomical types of complete AVC, is not possible with this technique.
