Abstract
If we consider a tube mill with its length equal to 5 to 6 times the diameter, it can be stated that at about a quarter of the length, half of the feed has reached the required fineness; in further grinding this mass will be overground or even agglomerated. The remedy has long been known: the grinding process must be interrupted, the fine portion separated, and the coarse portion recycled to the mill. This is the principle of closed circuit grinding.
