Abstract

The temperature increase in sheet molding compound SMC-R30 subjected to fatigue loading is investigated. The frequency range varies from 20 to 40 Hz. Using dimensional analysis, a formulation is obtained which enables the prediction of the temperature increase at different frequencies and different locations on the specimen, knowing the temperature increase at one frequency at one location.
