Abstract
Renal osteodystrophy consists of osteomalacia (or rickets in children), secondary hyperparathyroidism and sclerosis. The contribution to the bony changes by osteomalacia and hyperparathyroidism varies from case to case, but osteomalacia tends to predominate in the milder cases and hyperparathyroidism in the more severe disease.
