Abstract
Computed tomography is a radiographic method for visualizing the distribution of X-ray attenuation in the body. The method has acquired many names since it was introduced into clinical radiological practice in 1971, ‘computerized axial tomography’ or ‘computer-assisted tomography’ (CAT) and ‘computed tomography’ or ‘computerized tomography’ (CT) are terms in common use. The term ‘computed tomography’, CT, is generally used in radiology and will be used in this paper.
