Abstract

It is shown that the energy of the hydrolysis of ATP molecules can be transported without losses along alpha-helical protein molecules as special collective excited states — SOLITONS. These molecules are also a perfect guide for electron transfer from a donor to an acceptor molecule. A new hypothesis of the mechanism of muscle contraction is suggested.
