Abstract

The many-trajectory semiclassical approximation for calculation of the classical angle scattering is discussed. It is based on a specific representation of the scattering matrix, following from its piecewise synthesis. Each piece is calculated by solving semiclassical equations for closely spaced molecular adiabatic terms along local common trajectories. To this approximation the differential cross section displays interference effects: generalized Stueckelberg undulations, generalized rainbow undulations, and the slow modulation of rapid undulations due to the relative dephasing of waves scattered on a degenerate molecular term.
