Abstract
The dosages of corticosteroids applied after kidney transplantation were recently decreased in our hospital by approximately 50%. This led to a considerable decrease of the morbidity rate without a decrease of graft survival (1, 2). This change in our immunosuppressive regimen was one reason to undertake an analysis of factors contributing to an increased infection rate after cadaveric kidney transplantation.
