Abstract
The treatment of wastewaters in marshes is a very active process-including bacteriological and tertiary treatments — which is carried out at low cost. The process can be imitated in artificial marshes or series of basins where marsh plants are grown on a gravel substrate (treatment I), and agricultural plants or vegetables (treatment II) and fish breeding at the end of the treatment process. Water flow is by gravimetry or pumping. The installation and working of such a treatment process are inexpensive providing that the purchase price of land is low. In winter, marshing and pseudo-marshing show the same working rate as traditional treatment plants. Many other advantages are described.
