Abstract
Head space (HS) analysis is one of the most useful auxiliary techniques available in GC. Its simplicity and rapidity of execution, the possibility of avoiding the laborious treatments required for the preparation of samples, its non-destructive operation which does not modify the sample composition and does not change the structure of the substances under examination, are the most important advantages of this efficient and elegant means of research.
