Abstract
Research in our laboratory has focused on new methods for improving the therapeutic efficacy of anthracyclines by overcoming host toxicities and increasing their action against sensitive and resistant tumor types. We now summarize our findings from two novel methods of drug delivery. The first approach utilized liposome-concealed Adriamycin (ADR), which delivers the drug by mechanisms other than those normally used. The second method provides multiple drug-binding sites by covalently coupling ADR to a polymer support.
