Serological Diagnosis of Aujeszky’s Disease Using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)

Part of the book series: Current Topics in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science ((CTVM,volume 17))

Abstract

The ELISA has been developed for the detection of Aujeszhy’s disease virus (ADV) antibodies. Several hundred sera have been studied comparatively using the EZISA and seroneutralisation techniques. The results obtained by the two techniques were very similar. The advantages of ELISA make it ideal for epidemiological surveys and the large scale, early detection of anti-bodies to ADV.
