Abstract
The use of inactivated and attenuated vaccines against Aujeszky’s disease in Italy is described.
The inactivated vaccine is successful in preventing the disease in healthy conditions, whereas in strongly infected areas, particularly where there is intensive pig production, the disease is more successfully controlled by the use of the attenuated vaccine.
