Abstract
From the previous speakers, this morning, you have heard about research in astronomy which can be done better in outer space than from the ground. I will talk to you about research in astronomy that can only be done from outer space. The earth blanket is completely opaque for X-rays and gamma-rays; none that are incident to the earth’s atmosphere will reach the ground.
