Concepts and Approaches in Evolutionary Epistemology

Part of the book series: Theory and Decision Library ((TDLU,volume 36))

Abstract

Evolutionary epistemology is rather old as an idea, but quite young as a discipline. It was hinted at by evolutionists of all sorts, outlined by scientists such as Konrad Lorenz (biologist), Donald Campbell (psychologist) and Abner Shimony (physicist), adopted by philosophers such as Karl Popper, and worked out by the present author [1], by Rupert Riedl (this volume) and others.
