Seismicity and Seismic Risk in the Offshore North Sea Area

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((ASIC,volume 99))

Abstract

A brief overview of the seismicity and neotectonic structural activity of the Rhine graben system is given, together with some new results of modern seismological research work which are of interest for a realistic assessment of possible seismic hazards in the Rhine area and its vicinity.
