Abstract
High temperature conditioning of sludge is a stabilization process that insures sterilization. Both thermal pasteurization and irradiation are inactivation processes. Viruses and parasites are inactivated at 70–80° C. Total bacterial destruction requires higher temperatures and/or detention time.
